Arguably one of the most recognizable voices ever, country superstar Dolly Parton is taking her twang to a new animated series, Lily’s Driftwood Bay.
The show, which targets the preschool set, is about a girl who creates an imaginary world from items that she’s found washed up on the beach. Parton plays the role of Noleen (not to be confused with her smash hit “Jolene”), a famous singing chicken.
Parton, known for thoroughness and excellence in all of her endeavors, from her singing career to her self-named theme park DollyWood, is giving the project the same passion she gives everything.

“I’ve never played a chicken before but I have been known to lay a few eggs! Noleen is a very famous chicken, probably one of the most famous chickens ever there was. She washes up on Driftwood Bay and she’s trying to get Salty to go with her on tour. Now whether he does or whether he doesn’t, you’ll just have to watch and see,” said Parton.
Other famous voices joining the show include Stephen Fry, Peter Mullan, Tameka Empson and many more known in the UK and Ireland.
Lily’s Driftwood Bay will kick off in the UK on Nick Jr., June 6, followed by its debut on Sprout, June 27.
